River of Tears

Alone again late at night
I remember once upon a time
You would have been here by my side
And everything would be alright

Mistakes were made however so
Where my tears were laid is now too cold
My heart has paid a heavy toll
Time does not erase what I was sold

But no matter how much I cry
My river of tears won’t wash you away
And no matter how much I try
My river of tears won’t stop me from loving again

We build these walls
To protect our hearts
But just one little crack
Then the flood begins
